‘Pray For ‘Em’ is the impressive new track from Butterfly Ali. The track is built on an addictive groove. Soulful, funky and full of hip-hop influence, you can find everyone from Anderson .paak to Marvin Gaye flowing through his musical veins. It might be Butterfly Ali’s smooth, lyrical voice at the forefront of the track, but Sam Barsh’s production glues everything together. It’s no shock to find out that he has worked with Kendrick Lamar. The track “came about from the racial climate we have always been in & have recently seen a heavy resurgence of,” he explains. “I couldn’t quite figure out the right way to speak my thoughts on the topic, so I put my thoughts into this song”.
